Recently, I've been doing a lot more work on the Star of Destiny reboot thanks to writing just about every night. As I've been working on it, I wanted to get some of the characters redesigned. I had previously shared a new design for Star and figured maybe I should share some more. So here you go!
Raina the Angel, named for the fact that just about nobody can seem to disagree with her, is the only light Zatei to use sorcery (the only other light Zatei is Manaas). With immense command over light, she's a powerful force in a fight. During the war in which the Zatei were made, she was a rather devastating force. However, even more dangerous than her power with the light is her power over the minds of others and over her own physical form! All Raina has to do is touch someone and, unless they have an insanely powerful mind such as the Zatei all have, she can influence their thoughts however she wants. The worse part of this power is that those she controls feel like they're in control and making their decisions even if they contradict things they previously said or did; in their mind, they creating reasoning to rationalize everything. Since coming back to Apollos and travelling the world, Raina has made sufficient use of this power for the one thing she enjoys the most. She can also manipulate her body and outfit, changing her entire appearance in a split second. She can even alter the size of body, change her gender and alter the sound of her voice. These powers, when combined, make her a force for learning information as she can easily hide herself. However, she can't take on a non-humanoid form and she can't turn invisible. She has a preferred state, which is what she keeps herself in most of the time. It's hard to say if she has any base form, though; if she does and it's not her preferred form, it's never been seen.
Raina is mischievous and playful. She likes to toy with people in a manipulative way, something made easier by her abilities. She's always curious to see how people will react to a situation. She doesn't typically form attachments to others, likely a result of how she views others as simply tools for her own enjoyment. Anyone whom she does feel attached to is likely to get special treatment from her, where she'll be incredibly sweet to them and willing to do anything she can for them. The only people she's known to have attachment to are Drakosa the Dragon and Skye McCloud.
