The Star of Destiny Team-Up Art Contest

What Is It

A contest where contestants draw a Star of Destiny character and a character of their choosing (Based on the limitations given below) and swap their outfits.


How To Enter

To enter, contestants must choose a character from Star of Destiny (all characters, including those who are not introduced yet but have artwork for them, may be used), then they must choose a character from any other popular source that is in some way similar to the character they chose from Star of Destiny (Keep in mind, the similarity or connection is very open. You can go by if the characters have similar personalities, or if they have similar roles, or if they have some small thing in common like the same hair style or eye colour. For obvious reasons, don't base the similarities on similar outfits. See examples below to get a better idea of how it works). They then draw the two characters together in swapped outfits, likely reacting to the change in outfit if it's very different or giving some sort of implied relationship between the two (again, see examples)

Only entries that are drawn or painted, whether traditionally or digitally, will be accepted. Photo manipulation, photography, and written mediums are not allowed. This is a contest for drawn and painted art.

Keep in mind, all entries will be judged on art quality in some form, so be sure to try your best! However, a greater focus will be put into the non-art quality aspects.

E-mail your entries to skye.mccloud@starofdestiny.com All entries must be received by June 30th, 2012 in order to be eligible. You're welcome to post your entries on deviantART and I would ask that you do just to help spread word of the contest.

You can enter multiple pieces in, but you can only win with one entry.

Note: There is an imposed minimum number of entries for this contest. Currently this number is twenty. If this number is not met by the last entry day, the entry period will be extended until the minimum is met.

Examples (Do not use these as actual ideas unless you talk with me first. I want to see them drawn, but I don't wanna see a dozen people do them and get nothing else)

Dalmar Kotan (www.starofdestiny.com/artwork.…) and Uchiha Sasuke (from Naruto)
Connection: Very similar hairstyles, brooding backstories, rival-esque roles with the male lead.

Star Yunai (skye-mccloud.deviantart.com/ar…) and Yoko Littner (from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann)
Connection: Lead female protagonists
Reaction: Star is shocked and a little horrified over Yoko's outfit, which Star is wearing, while Yoko acts like it isn't a big deal.

Deadline

All entries must be e-mailed to skye.mccloud@starofdestiny.com by June 30th, 2012 in order to be eligible. You're welcome to post your entries on deviantART and I would ask that you do just to help spread word of the contest.


Prizes

There are four prizes for this contest:

1st Place: A 2-year subscription to deviantART or $50
2nd Place: A 1-year subscription to deviantART or $25
3rd Place: A 6-month subscription to deviantART or $15

"Most Interesting Connection": A 1-year subscription to deviantART or $25.

In all prizes, if you want the cash prize you MUST have Paypal.

NOTE: I -WILL- improve the prizes if I receive a LOT of entries.


Judges

At this time, the only judge is me. However, I plan to have one other judge work with me, and there will be a third individual to break any tie-breakers.
